On Wednesday, May 17th, Class 35 of Leadership Council Bluffs met for the final time. During the closing retreat, hosted at Arrowhead Park, the class reviewed the activities of the year and lessons learned. Groups of soon-to-be graduates presented on their Community Trustee Projects to the class, including a fundraiser for the Midlands Humane Society, a supplemental class for Bridges out of Poverty graduates, a drive for supplies for those living on the streets with New Visions Homeless Services, and more. The class heard from Donna Dostal and Sunni Kamp about the impact the Community Funds have on our area, and then had a group discussion on how to donate $2,500 from the LCB Endowment Fund to local non-profits of their choice. Two non-profits were chosen to receive funds, and they will be announced and awarded at the Chamber's Mid-Year Meeting on June 21st, where Leadership Council Bluffs Class 35 will also graduate and receive completing certificates. The class wrapped up the day with games, drinks, and networking!
