5-23-23 Executive Women's Partnership Luncheon

The Executive Women's Partnership is an exclusive, diverse group of female leaders in our community. In May, they met at River's Edge Pavilion to hear from speakers on the topic of Women's Health. The speaker bios are listed below. EWP applications and information can be found on the Chamber's website.

Jessica Duncan is a Council Bluffs native, Lewis Central graduate, Creighton alum, an experienced Geriatric Services navigator with a demonstrated history of working in the Southwest Iowa Hospital & Health Care industry. Her healthcare marketing experience started after being promoted from a CNA to Executive Assistant/Sales Director in an Assisted Living/Independent Living community while obtaining her Bachelor's of Science in Health Care Administration and Policy from Creighton University. She furthered her education into the dementia journey while helping open a Memory Care in Council Bluffs, by becoming a Certified Dementia Practitioner, working in specialized dementia home health in rural Iowa and advocating for those with Dementia as a volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association in 2017. After five years of being a volunteer, she was asked to join the Iowa Chapter staff and share her personal connection to the disease as a caregiver to her loved one. She is actively going through the Leadership Council Bluffs 2022-23 session, a Council Bluffs Chamber Impact CB Member & Young Professional of the Year 2022, Vice President on the Board of Southwest Iowa NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Board Member for YMCA of Council Bluffs (Healthy Living Center and Charles E. Lakin campus), Member of Human Services Advisory Council, Healthy Harrison, Healthy Cass, and Southwest Iowa Networking Group (SWING).  She enjoys sharing the impact of dementia in our area to 'sandwich' generation daughters, like herself who is an active mother of two little boys and all while still caring for her father with dementia in his fifties.

Brittany Simon is a native from the Bay Area California. She attended medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine and subsequently completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas at Austin. In residency, she was very involved in diversity equity and inclusion initiatives and performed various quality improvement research projects in maternal postpartum care and perioperative care in gynecologic surgery. After graduating in 2022, she returned to the Midwest and is currently employed by CHI Health Clinic and practices primarily at the Valley View clinic location in Council Bluffs. She practices full scope obstetrics and gynecology and has various interests including minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, high risk obstetrics and menopause. She is a junior fellow in training with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, an associate member of the North American Menopause Society,  and member of both the National Medical Association and the American Medical Association. In her free time she gardens, spends quality time with her family, and reads young adult fantasy fiction novels.
