Description
March 22 marks the last Friday of Lenten season, a 40-day religious observance that communities across the country celebrate in ‘Fish Fry Fashion.’ Here, in the metro area, a local club will welcome a new type of event to the diocese’s tradition. How about skipping the same-old place you have been to every year and getting a change of scenery? For one night only, the Council Bluffs Optimist Club will host the first ever Food Truck Fish Fry on Friday, March 22nd from 6 to 9pm, at Full Fledged Brewing Company, located at 40 Arena Way in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Enjoy local craft beer, live music by Turnin’ Gears, cornhole, and to ensure fun for the whole family…they have invited local Fire trucks and Police cruisers to show off! The range of delectable food choices starts at $10 per plate and will feature custom fish selections from Taste of Heaven Mobile Restaurant and Hugo’s Taco Truck. But wait, there’s MORE! Club President Rachel Schott said, “Mother Nature kept mixing things up, so we figured, why not do the same? Think ‘Polar Plunge’ with a twist! We’ve got a Dunk Tank and cannot wait to see our community leaders soaked in support for our club!”
In addition to Council Bluffs Fire Chief Justin James, Council Bluffs Police Chief Matt Davis, and Council Bluffs Mayor Matt Walsh…guests will have the chance to join the fun. Perhaps drenching a boss, in-laws, or your best friend. As a fundraiser to benefit the Council Bluffs Optimist Club, a portion of food sales and all dunk dollars will go directly to the nonprofit and support youth in the community. From 7:20 to 8:30pm, time slots are available for YOU to choose who gets dunked! Just $25 to register, each entry will be soaked for 5 minutes straight! Pre-registration required and only 7 lucky time slots available. This is your chance to enjoy delicious food, great live music, and “clean” family fun!
