Description
IWCC and Loess Hills Environmental are teaming up to offer a Hazwoper 8Hr Refresher Course. This course will be strictly online (ZOOM).
The 8-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) course assists employers with meeting OSHA’s refresher training requirements outlined in 29 CFR 1910.120. This class is designed for workers who have previously completed 24 or 40-hour HAZWOPER training and may also be appropriate for operations level first responders depending on organization needs. Refresher training includes a review of relevant topics described in 29 CFR 1910.120 and practical exercises to reinforce key concepts and competencies.
Instructor: Korey Brunken is a Nebraska-licensed Professional Environmental Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), and Iowa Groundwater Professional (IAGWP). As a design engineer and project manager he has been responsible for Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan development and implementation, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) development, and numerous petroleum and other hazardous substance release investigations. As a senior instructor/writer for the U.S. Army Chemical Corps, Korey was responsible for delivering 29 CFR 1910.120-compliant HAZWOPER course content, detection and decontamination equipment classes, and other chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) training. He now volunteers with the Logan Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association and as owner of Loess Hills Environmental conducts HAZWOPER and other environmental training for workers and first responders
