American PCS Announces New Nonprofit Cybersecurity Grant

Nonprofit organizations are frequent targets for cybercriminals, ranking as the second most targeted sector by nation-state attacks. The impact of these cyber-attacks is significant, with the average downtime following a ransomware attack being 22 days. This can result in identity theft, reputational damage and financial losses. Many of these attacks, however, are preventable. The goal of this new grant is to assist nonprofits in identifying vulnerabilities, strengthening their cybersecurity measures.

Now serving Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson High Schools in Council Bluffs! MentorU is a technology-enhanced mentoring program provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands. In this School-Based Mentoring program, volunteers only need 2.5 hours a month to help a local high school student gain confidence and define what success means to them!

Health Insurance & Medicare Changes Coming Next Year

The “family glitch” has been fixed, potentially making 3-5 million more Americans eligible for a tax credit / subsidy. Millions who were kicked off Medicaid are getting coverage through the Marketplace. More people will be eligible for a Marketplace subsidy even if their job offers coverage. The government is limiting the number of non-standardized plans. Plans now offer a fitness reimbursement benefit that can be used for golf clubs, bikes, fishing poles, etc.
