Community Relationship Specialist/Academic Advisor
 
Buena Vista University’s Online Programs is seeking a Community Relationship Specialist/Academic Advisor, located at the BVU office on the Iowa Western Community College campus.  This team member will be instrumental in recruitment, advising, retention, and outreach efforts.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing new leads by promoting BVU in the community by attending events, hosting events, and engaging in classroom visits.
• Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with constituents of BVU, including but not limited to staff, prospective and current students, community college staff, and other community members.
• Maintain student files for prospective and current students through BVU’s Student Information Systems, while providing extensive outreach to said students.
• Build relationships with prospective BVU students and advise and provide student support to current BVU students through graduation.

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• 1- 2 years of student service and higher education desired.
• Proactive team player who’s ready to jump in wherever needed and support the team in achieving its goals.
• High degree of professionalism, collaboration, attention to detail, and a desire to provide excellent service to all stakeholders.
• Ability to establish and achieve priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available to work an occasional evening or weekend.
• A valid driver’s license is required, and personal auto insurance should include coverage for Uninsured Motorists and Underinsured Motorists; drivers must have limits of $100,000 per occurrence/$300,000 aggregate.
