POSITION OVERVIEW

The Associate Director of Nursing is responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing in managing the daily operations of the nursing staff and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

SCHEDULE AND PAY

This is a full-time (40 hour) position.

Clinic Open: Monday – Thursday 8AM - 7PM, Friday 8AM – 5PM, and Saturday 8AM – 12PM. Scheduling needs will be discussed during interview. Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually.

DUTIES

  • Provides supervision to departmental staff.
    • Assigns duties to employees and provides daily guidance.
    • Provides and/or ensures employees receive instruction/training needed to successfully complete their assigned job responsibilities.
    • Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with nursing staff to provide feedback and support.
    • Monitors EHR workflow daily to ensure timely completion of tasks related to test results and other critical information.
    • Ensures that employees are aware of, and adhere to, appropriate company policies and procedures.
    • Provides input into the maintenance and upkeep of departmental job descriptions.
    • Prepares and conducts performance appraisals for immediate staff no later than 30 days of deadline.
    • Participates in hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures.
  • Responsible for providing assistance in infection control practices.
    • Assists in the implementation and monitoring of infection control policies and procedures.
    • Reports any issues or concerns to the Director of Nursing on a weekly basis.
    • Ensures compliance with sanitation and infection control regulations.
    • Ensures completion of annual infection control competencies.
    • Ensures completion of new hire infection control competencies within 30 days.
    • Educates staff on infection control best practices.
    • Monitors adherence to infection control protocols.
  • Responsible for assisting with performance improvement and compliance activities.
    • Participates in performance improvement projects and activities designed to improve clinical quality and efficiency.
    • Reports any issues or concerns to the Director of Nursing on a weekly basis.
    • Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to address operational challenges.
    • Ensures compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Provides support to nursing staff on the floor as required, assisting with various tasks to ensure efficient patient care and smooth operations
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a valid, current nursing license within the state of Iowa.
  • BSN or RN plus two years of relevant experience required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of HIPAA and infection control best practices.
