Data Engineer

TS Banking Group is seeking to hire a Data Engineer. This position is primarily responsible for creating data tools for analytics, data science, and development team members by analyzing complex data sources and identifying data requirements.

Preferred education and/or experience includes: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Statistics and relevant business experience.

Location: Treynor, IA/ Hybrid, Remote, In-Office

Pay: $75,000 - $100,000/yr. (Pay is dependent upon experience)

Experience and Skills:

  • Prepare and maintain architectures, data, and data models for data science applications
  • Produce code to clean the data and ensure the quality of data
  • Design processes for transferring data into existing data lake
  • Support quantitative analysts and data scientists with data discovery and rapid assembly of large data sets from disparate sources
  • Extract and combine data from various heterogeneous data sources
  • Analyze complex data sources and assist in the design of new data feeds
  • Liaise and coordinate with external data providers to determine how to integrate data into the existing environment and data model
  • Identify opportunities for new data acquisition and new uses for existing data resources
  • Support software developers and data scientists on data initiatives, and ensure that the data delivery is consistent across the entire project
  • Comply with all banking and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees of company and the general public. Must possess good communication skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to operate the following: telephone, personal computer, printer, copy machine, fax machine. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs. Advanced PC knowledge beneficial.
  • To effectively perform the job, must have reliable transportation to travel to and from work and other work-related events, meetings, interactions with clients, etc.
  • Position may require the ability to work before or after normal business hours, including weekends and overnight travel, to meet required deadlines and attend meetings and/or training programs.
