How would you contribute? 

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite Plastics team, located in Omaha, NE.  As a Maintenance Mechanic you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. This role is responsible for Repairs and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties, and plumbing maintenance.

 

Essential Duties: 

  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with maintenance team to diagnose problems or repair machinery.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Install and set up molding machines, stacker equipment, print and machine shop equipment.
  • Assemble, install, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and  fixtures, and tools.
  • Read and interpret basic electrical diagrams.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety problems to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work 10:30pm - 7:00am and weekends as needed
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  •  
  •  3+ years of previous experience in an industrial maintenance role is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.  
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to read a tape and calipers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Upholds and supports organizational goals and values.
  • Take the initiative to ask for and offer help when needed.
  • Works weekends and holidays, as required by company maintenance priorities, machine installation schedules and plant emergencies.
