Municipal Housing Agency
Overview
The Municipal Housing Agency's main responsibility is the construction, maintenance, and management of low rent housing for the elderly, handicapped, and low and moderate income families. The housing agency is involved in the preparation of applications for federal funds, review of possible sites, architect proposals and construction monitoring. The agency informs the community of housing availability, establishes rental rates, and issues compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The agency administers the Section 8 programs and monitors activity for HUD compliance.
