Pre-press Flexo Color Separator
How would you contribute? This role is a contributing member of our Omaha, NE team. The Pre-press Flexo Color Separator is responsible for creating or modifying digital files for printing using specialized print software on Mac computers. They ensure that dimensions and technical specifications are suitable for printing. The Pre-Press Flexo Color Separator will collaborate with various teams and follow instructions to deliver high-quality artwork that meets customer expectations.

Essential Duties:
- Receive verbal and written instructions from Graphic Coordinators and internal/external customers regarding specifications.
- Study layouts, sketches, and related materials to become familiar with the assignment and proof-read artwork for print readiness.
- Determine the best style, technique, and medium to produce desired effects while considering reproduction limitations or specific instructions.
- Create pre-press artwork, considering customer and production suggestions, print limitations, and optimal results.
- Develop concepts and render illustrations based on models, sketches, memory, and imagination.
- Verify art-related information on customer orders and assist customers by recommending alternatives or changes.
- Act as a liaison between customers and the print shop regarding colors and other art specifications.
- Create proofs using digital files, paper printed proofs, digital or physical mockups, or ink drawdowns to show customers the final product appearance after printing.
- Upon completion of approved artwork, run it to CDI in a plate layout.
- Compare the signed proof to the black & white separations.
- Coordinate with production personnel to develop optimal designs, make necessary adjustments for a closer match to the paper proof, and ensure color quality and consistency on production runs.
- Support in-person and online press-proofs with customers, as well as internal press-proofs.
- Approve target laminations to be used as standard for production runs.
- Communicate project updates, timing, and approvals with clients and coordinators.
- Create digital or physical mockups using customer-supplied artwork.
- Share knowledge and experience with the Graphics Team for future jobs.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new technology.
- Serve as a backup for other roles within the department when possible.
- Maintain company attendance standards and report any food safety concerns to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
